Golden Thistle

The golden color of this prickly little thistle caught my attention.

Why is it that we are always attracted to golden?

It may be because we connect it with gold, that precious metal that has captivated human beings forever.

Its radiance is so similar to the sun that some ancient civilizations used gold to worship it.

We think of gold and immediately associate it with wealth, power, abundance, ambition and luxury, symbolizing success.

It can also have, to a certain extent, negative meanings, such as falsehood, when you want to make the other see what it is not through lies.

For some people it is too ostentatious. I think that’s why I don’t have much gold on hand. I settle for photographing a golden thistle.
