For a long time, when the Christmas season arrives, in my city a life-size nativity scene has been placed next to the cathedral.
It is open to the public and can be visited free of charge. It is one of the great attractions on those dates.
The nativity scene occupies 1000 m. square in size, it contains a hundred figures, half of them life-size, as well as natural plants and flowers. Traditional scenes, trades such as carpenter, blacksmith, potter, among others, are recreated.
One morning while walking, I discovered the town hall workers repositioning the figures of the small animals. I imagine that they take them off every day, to prevent someone from taking them, as has already happened on occasion. If I remember correctly, one year the baby Jesus disappeared. It was the most talked about of those Christmases.
